Hazel Townsend, 86, Forest, passed away at 8:32 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at her home. She was born February 20, 1933, in Sheridan, Indiana, the daughter of the late Kenneth & Esther (Shook) Pearson. On March 11, 1955, she married Charles Townsend and he survives.

Hazel was a graduate of Forest High School. She was a homemaker and farm wife who enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and cooking for her family.

Along with her husband Charles, Hazel is survived by her children, Kevin (Brenda) Townsend, and Lisa (Steve) Lorenz; son-in-law, Kevin Bridgewater; grandchildren, Jessica (Peter) Bridgewater, Kevin Kyle Townsend, Kaitlin (Ross) Carter, and Ian Lorenz; great-grandson, Canaan Ross Carter.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Marcia Bridgewater.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
