Services for Barbara E. Sims age 85 of Greenfield, TN, will be held Tuesday October 1st at 3 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, TN. Burial to follow in Hornbeak Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home and go until time of service at 3. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Gene Sims, son Scott Sims, brother Don Blaylock, and parents Clyde and Evelyn Keown.

Mrs. Sims was the first Miss Greenfield. She was honored as "Woman of the Year" by the Greenfield Women's Club. She was known for her charitable spirit, as she, along with friends, made thousands of fried pies and hot tamales for Relay for Life. She enjoyed playing bridge for over 60 years. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church where she served the nursery for many years. She and her late husband, Gene Sims, gave many UTM scholarships in honor of their son, Scott, since Scott's death 35 years ago.
