Glenn A. Thompson, age 88, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born May 28, 1931 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (nee Graham) Thompson. Glenn was a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of his life. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a letter carrier for the Tonawanda Post Office before retiring in 1992. He enjoyed swimming at the Tonawanda Aquatic Center and riding his bicycle.
He was the husband of the late Mary (nee McCartney) Thompson, who died July 22, 2016; father of Glendora C. Thompson of North Tonawanda, Della A. Thompson of North Tonawanda, and Judy E. Thompson of Tonawanda. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Tuesday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday; the Rev. Justin Collins officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. If desired, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 6215 Sheridan Drive, Suite 100, Buffalo, NY 14221, are preferred by the family.
