Elmer "Ray" Baker, 70, of Shannon Mill Creek, WV passed away on Saturday September 28, 2019 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV.

He was born on February 5, 1949 in Bradshaw, WV a son of the late Lonnie Baker (1919-1951) and Martha Baker-Cantrell-Baker (1920-Deceased). In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Steele-Baker (1952-2001); two brothers, Leonard Lee Cantrell (1938-1959) and William Henry Baker (Deceased); and a sister, June Baker-Horn (Deceased).

Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years Edna Lou Compton-Hawks-Baker; two daughters, Michelle Baker-Strickland & husband Shawn Strickland and Lindsey Nicole Baker all of Shannon Mill Creek; a son, Lonnie Baker & wife Brittany Baker of Hanover; a brother, Nathan Baker & wife Carol Sue Baker of Baileysville; three stepsons, Chuckie Hawk of Van, Scotty Hawk of Garrison, KY and Jason Hawk of Oceana; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday October 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Bro. Wayne Bailey and Pastor Gary Hatfield officiating. He will be laid to rest in Johnson Cemetery, Shannon Mill Creek, WV.
