Dr. Clarence H. Collins, age 67, of Salem, Va., died Tuesday in Rosenberg, Texas.

He was a practicing dentist in the Roanoke Valley for 37 years and had been active in various dental associations. He was treasurer for the FLOMIC Investment Club, member of the Salem Moose Lodge and St. Andrews Catholic Church. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was devoted to his family, friends and patients. He enjoyed fishing, boating and being at the beach.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Regina K. Collins; son, James P. Collins, Salem; son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Laurie M. Collins, Winston Salem, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Mary C. and Cameron R. Ogilvie, Salem; daughter, Laurie M. Collins and her fiancee, William Hart, Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Paul Cooper, Amanda Cooper, Michael Collins, Gina Collins, Gracie Collins, Joshua Ogilvie and Kelli Ogilvie; a sister, Grace Kytchen, Roanoke; a friend and devoted assistant, Joyce Brown.

A prayer service will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 7:30 p.m. Friday with funeral mass of the resurrection at St. Andrew's Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 1991. Rev. Donald H. Lemay will officiate. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday.
