Floyd E. Dean, 70, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic - Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach.

Floyd was born in Glens Falls, New York and moved to Vero Beach in December of 2012 from South Glens Falls, New York.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed in An Khi and Pleiku Vietnam from 1969 – 1970 while serving in the US Army. He was a member of the 9.23 Community at Christ Church in Vero Beach. Floyd graduated from Adirondack Community College in Queensbury, New York. He retired as the Logistics Administrator from Encore Paper South Glens Falls, New York. When he retired to Vero Beach he served as a Goodwill Re-hab Tech.

Floyd was also an accomplished chef and enjoyed his time in several restaurant kitchens.

Survivors include wife Doreen Dean of Vero Beach, sons Timothy Dean of Vero Beach and Matthew (Jodi) Dean of Glens Falls, New York, daughter Heather Clark of Glens Falls, New York, brothers Earl and James Dean of Glens Falls, New York, sister Bobbie Lee VanGuilder of Whitehall, New York, brother-in-laws Richard (Cindy) Goodman of Glens Falls, New York and James (Eva) Goodman of Vero Beach, and grandchildren Evan Dean, Emma Dean, Brittany Clark, and Brianna Clark, adopted children Kody Dean, Lizbeth Dean, and Danyal Dean, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Irving Dean Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Livingston); a son Logan Dean, brothers Earl Dean, Sr. and Irv Dean, Jr., Robert Dean and sisters Ella Dean and Geri Mound.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Scully Welsh Cancer Center of Cleveland Clinic, 3555 10th Court, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or the 9.23 Community at Christ Church, 667 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

The family will receive friends 4-7 PM, Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.

A memorial service celebrating his life will take place Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Christ Church Memorial Garden beginning at 7 PM.
