Obit in Pulaski Democrat Feb 11, 1875:
Casket-Austin-In Pulaski Jan 28, 2875, the wife of C W Austin Aged 67 Years, 6 months and 20 days. She was a long sufferer, having suffered six months before death came upon her of dropsy and heart disease. She has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for some 40 years or over. We feel to mourn her loss as a kind and affectionate mother, who always gave good advice to her children. She is laid in the grave but her bright spirit soars. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Elihu Dennis Austin and William Fayette Austin.

In the Orwell census of 1840 showed there were six children of William Fayette and Marilda Austin listed. There may have been an eleventh child named Zachariah Taylor Austin.
