HAROLD D. 'BUD' MALVEN

Harold D. "Bud" Malven, 91, of Kingston, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in De-Kalb.

Born Aug. 10, 1912, in Maynard, Iowa, he was the son of William Vale Malven (Obit says son of William Vale Malven, but William Vale Malven was actually his Grandfather. James Harvey Malven was actually his father.)and Tilla (Struthoff) Malven. He married Norma O. Rheuport on March 13, 1937, in Missouri. He was a retired area farmer.

He was a member and officer of the Associated Milk Producers, a Kingston Town-ship supervisor for 17 years, a member of Oak Club and secretary of the golf league.

He is survived by a son, Paul (Annette) Malven of West Lafayette, Ind.; two grandsons, Mark (Tara) Malven and Daniel (Audi) Malven, and two great-grandsons, Talcott and Quinlan Malven, all of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma, in 2001; and two brothers, Herbert and William Malven.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home in Genoa, with the Rev. Robert Vaughn officiating. Interment will be at Kingston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was a resident of DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in DeKalb for the past two years, and a memorial fund is established for the activities fund at the center in care of Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home, P.O. Box 251, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, IL 60135.
