Altha B. Bruner, 90, of Mount Liberty Road in Brown County died at 4:08 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Bruner was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking, sewing, working in the garden and spending time with family and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with the Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at New Bellsville Cemetery in Brown County.

Born in Jackson County on Sept. 15, 1916, Mrs. Bruner was the daughter of Jesse and Tinzie Stevens Houshour. She married Lee Bruner on Sept. 15, 1932.
Survivors include children, Martha Maynard, Gladys Miracle and Norma Hamblen, all of Columbus, Betty (Larry) Wilkerson of Virginia, Candy Brown and Robina (Jim) Miller, both of Columbus, Cate (Bob) Montgomery of Indianapolis, Lloyd (Jan) Bruner of Columbus, Kenny (Debbie) Bruner of Nashville and Jerry (Brenda) Bruner of Columbus; a brother, Everett (Hassie) Houshour of Franklin; a sister, Nellie Reeves of Columbus; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 13, 1979; sons, Orville Ray and Walter Richard Bruner; a daughter, Hazle M. Bruner; brothers, Cecil and Eke Houshour; sisters, Elsie Bruner and Emma Crawhorn; grandchildren, James Aron and Jaime Miller; and a great-granddaughter, Aidyn Hodson.
