Joseph L Flynn, 64, passed away peacefully at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

He was surrounded by his loving family. Born May 30, 1955 in Gary, Indiana, he was the son of Ralph and Mary Grace (Daugherty) Flynn.

He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2010 after 33 years as an Electronics Instrumentation Technician. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1974 and got his degree from ITT Technical Institute in 1976.

He married the love of his life, Susan, in 1976 and together they created a wonderful life in Brown County Indiana. Joe was a very generous, genuine and outgoing man. He never met a stranger and had a laugh as big and generous as he was. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joys were his family and sharing his knowledge with others.

He spent his life dedicated to helping everyone, beginning with his family but extending to anyone he met. He loved Jesus and shared that love with everyone through word and deed.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, and three children; Amanda (Randy) Kinnaird of Brown County, Indiana; Andrew (Leslie) Flynn of Stuyvesant Falls, New York; and Ashley (Mo) Kane of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Rory and Axl Kinnaird, Nathaniel Manchuck; two brothers, Patrick (Lorraine) Flynn of High Point, North Carolina and William (LeeAnn) Flynn of Bedford, Indiana; and one sister Margie Waggoner of Bedford Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Timothy and John Flynn, and one sister; Pamela Flynn.

A private funeral service will be held at the grave site in Brown County at a later date.
