Michael Eugene Copeland, 59, of 101 Oakdale Drive, Edenton, NC, died Monday, September 9, 2019, in his home.
Mr. Copeland was born in Richmond, Virginia on October 4, 1959, and was the son of Sylvia W. Morgan of Edenton, and the late Carlton Eugene Copeland. Employed with All-In-One Mechanical, he was an HVAC installation and repair technician. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Albemarle Houndsmen Association.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-fathers, Sammy Langley and Seth Mac Morgan; an infant grandson, Mac Horne; a half-brother, Steven Langley; and a step-brother, Jay Phillips.
With his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Ashley C. Horne, her husband Chris, and their sons, Roger John, Henry Michael, and Clyde Lazarus Horne; two step-sons, J.R. Quidley and Nelson Waterfield; and his brother, William Carl “Billy” Copeland.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. Friends may visit with family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Sunday or all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund established for his grandsons at the State Employees Credit Union, P.O. Box 4, Gatesville, NC 27938, Attn: Erin Riddick.
