Gordon was born on August 23, 1925 in Carbon Hill, Alabama to William Harve Hickey and Louisa Elizabeth (Lewis) Hickey. At the age of 17, Gordon decided to join the Navy and fight for our country during World War II where he was stationed in the Pacific Theater on the USS Pennsylvania as a Coxswain. Gordon married Kay Fette in September 1964 in Sunnyvale, California where they owned and operated G&K Metal Finishing. A company that was instrumental in the rise of the Silicon Valley by electroplating many electronic components. He was an active member of the BPOE, American Legion, NRA and VFW in Gainesville.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Kay D. (Fette) Hickey of Lindsay; son Timothy Charles and wife Kimberley Hickey of Fremont, CA and granddaughter Corrina Sinatro of Sunnyvale, CA.
Gordon is preceded in death by parents: William and Louisa Hickey; sons: Gordon Hickey and William E. Hickey; sisters: Bertha Scott, Lela Mansel, Ethel Townley, Minnie Lou Jordan; and brother: Lewis Hickey.
