Cathy M. Gibson, 60, passed away on September 27, 2019, at her home in Wortham. Burial will be at Wortham Cemetery.

Cathy was born on February 10, 1959, in Corsicana, Texas, to the late Dwain and Bobbie Ruth McElroy Mathison. She graduated from Wortham High School, Class of 1977. Prior to retirement, she was an employee of the Farmers State Bank in Wortham for 41 years. She was not only a longtime dedicated employee, but she truly enjoyed her job.

Cathy’s family was her life. Like most mothers, she thought there was no way she could love anyone more than her children but when the grandchildren came along, that love just grew stronger. Although, Cathy cherished time with the grandchildren, she always shared some special time with her children and sisters. Her extended family of cats and dogs were also dear to her heart. She was a dedicated Christian and a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church of Wortham.

Survivors include her husband, Alan Gibson, of Wortham; daughter, Kasi Wright and her husband, Sam, of Wortham; son, John “Jay” Gibson, Jr. and his wife, Daline, of Midland; grandchildren: Samantha Wright, Hudson and Chase Gibson; sisters, Vicki Eddings and her husband, Gerald Ray, and Michelle Graham and her husband, Marcus; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
