James L. “Jim” Sapp, age 62 of Wymore passed away on September 26, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. He was born in Hastings on February 18, 1957 to Keith and Marilyn (Rollins) Sapp. On July 7, 1984, Jim was united in marriage to Sue Oligmueller. From this union, two boys were born: Mitchell and Tanner. Jim was a 1977 graduate of Harvard High School and graduated from Peru State College. He was a teacher and coach at Beemer High School in Beemer, NE and Kickapoo Nation High School in Pawhattan, KS before moving to Wymore where he has been the shop teacher for the past 30 years. Jim was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Wymore, current member of the Wymore Park Board, past Cub Scout leader, and past EMT & firefighter in Beemer. Through the years, Jim coached football, basketball, volleyball, and little league. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, sports – especially Husker volleyball and football, but above all, Jim was a proud dad and grandpa.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Sue of Wymore; sons, Mitchell Sapp and wife Morgan of Tekamah, NE, and Tanner Sapp of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Hurley Sapp; mother-in-law, Bernie Oligmueller; brothers-in-law, Jim (Dixie) Oligmueller and Tim (Tracy) Oligmueller; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Pat) Recker, Barb (Dave) Deitloff, and Kay (Fred) Schultz; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law; Francis Oligmueller; and several aunts and uncles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wymore with Father Robert Barnhill officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Beemer, Nebraska. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Monday, September 30 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6-8 PM. A scriptural prayer service will begin at 7:30 PM Monday. The body will also lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
