Holly Lynn Simpson Nicholson was born September 29, 1970, in Clarinda, Iowa, the daughter of William G. (Bill) Simpson and Katheryn J. (Katie) (Cavner) Simpson. Holly grew up in College Springs, Iowa and graduated from South Page High School with the class of 1989. Holly loved music and had a beautiful voice and was a member of the choir and ensembles while in high school.

Holly had been employed at Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corporation in Maryville, Missouri. Holly was a very caring person and was especially fond of animals. She could not stand to see an animal harmed and would take many strays into home to care for them.

Preceding Holly in death were her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Justin Noel Donahue and wife Brit of Terrill, Iowa and Jerod James Kubly of Ames, Iowa; grandson, Jacob William Donahue; step granddaughters, Trinidy and Payton Seese; fiancé, Tony Hurst of Burlington Junction, Missouri; parents, Bill and Katie Simpson of College Springs, Iowa; brother, Kelly Simpson of College Springs, Iowa; uncle and aunt, Lloyd and Dorothy Cavner of Clarinda, Iowa; aunt, Doris McCluskey of Ft. Collins, Colorado; nephew and nieces, Dani Mertes' and husband Trevor and their three children, Charlie Mae, Jonathan, and Avery of Coin, Iowa and Haley Simpson of Clarinda, Iowa; and two uncles, Uncle Lawrence Cavner and Uncle Robert Simpson; along with many cousins and friends.
