Charlotte May Thompson, 79, of Big Rapids, left for her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

She began this earthly journey on June 3, 1940 in Cadillac, MI, the daughter of John and Helen (Bush) Thompson. Charlotte grew up in East Lansing and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. She attended Michigan State University and the University of Iowa, with career interests in dietetics and nutrition. Charlotte returned to the Mecosta County area (which was her mother’s birthplace), where she worked for over 20 years in the health care field.

Charlotte is survived by her sister Judith (Chuck) Johansen of Rodney; her brother Myrl Thompson of Prescott, AZ; nieces and nephews Scott, Stacie, Juli, and Joe; and several other cherished grand-nieces and -nephews, cousins and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her younger brother John Thompson Jr.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1325 Woodward Avenue in Big Rapids, with Brother John Richardson presiding. Burial will follow at the Martiny Township Cemetery in Rodney.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the church, or Spectrum Health Hospice.
