Sister Louise Murray, CSJ (Sister Avitus), in her 75th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Friday, September 19, 2014. Beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Alice (Ford) Murray and loving sister of the late Alice M. Higgins and William G. Murray. Survived by her niece, Nancy Kiernan of South Carolina and her devoted friend, Sister Katherine Magno, CSJ. Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Joseph School, Medford; St. Benedict School, Somerville; St. Marys Boys High School, Lynn; Gate of Heaven High School, South Boston; and served as Principal at Sacred Heart Elementary School and High School, Newton Center. Sister Louise ministered as Religious Education Director at St. Ann Parish, Marshfield; and in the Pastoral Care and Field Education Ministry at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Brighton. She also served eight years in Leadership as an Area Councilor for the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Visiting hours was at Holy Spirit Chapel, Bethany Health Care Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, Wednesday, September 24, 2014, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Prayer Service at 10:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at Bethany at 10:30 a.m. Burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick, MA. Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, Framingham.
