Obituary of D.B. "Jack" Cockrell
Funeral services for Mr. D.B. “Jack” Cockrell are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, September 29, 2019 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Bodie Spicer officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery.

Mr. Cockrell passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the age of seventy-eight. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, a retired maintenance superintendent of Angus Chemical Company and a graduate of NLU in Construction Management. Mr. Cockrell enjoyed hunting, running dogs, riding around and going to the deer camp. He also enjoyed riding horses and was a cattle farmer. Mr. Cockrell served on the Morehouse Parish Police Jury for four terms.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cockrell; children, Chris Cockrell and wife Charmon, Stacey Cockrell and wife Sandra, Karen Caldwell and husband Mark, all of Bastrop, LA; step-children, Josh Johnson and wife Kate, Cole Johnson and wife Amber, both of Sterlington, LA; siblings, Glenn Cockrell, of Monroe, LA, Brent Cockrell and wife Cheryl, of Lafayette, LA, Keith Cockrell and wife Pam, of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Paige Randolph and husband Denver, Hunter Cockrell, Chase Cockrell, Alyssa Cockrell, Eli Caldwell, Gage Cockrell, Harper Johnson, Zayn Johnson, Zander Johnson; great grandchildren, Rylie Randolph, Noah Randolph, Camden Randolph and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Cockrell is preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Alice Cockrell; sister, Yvonne Vandrese and great grandson, Baker Byrnside.

Serving the family as pallbearers are; Hunter Cockrell, Chase Cockrell, Mason Caldwell, Cayden Caldwell, Tanner Caldwell, Denver Randolph and Eli Caldwell.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
