Learton Roger Binkley, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Roger was born on January 18, 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Learton Patterson Binkley and Addie Mae Rice Binkley. He had a Master's Degree in Industrial Arts from Austin Peay, taught at Isaac Litton Jr High, Hillwood Jr High, and Cheatham County High School. Roger was a devout Methodist, served in the US Army and Navy, active in the Middle TN Boy Scout Council and was an agent for Cheatham County Farm Bureau for over 40 years. Roger devoted his entire life to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Hunter Binkley; siblings, Kenneth (died at age 2), Lady Claire (Steve) Schmidt, Nancy (Joe Sr) Gillespie, and Judy Veach. Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Hunter Binkley; sons, Alan (Tammy) Binkley; Kyle (Bea) Binkley, and Drew (Angelica) Binkley; daughter-in-law, Susan Mead Binkley; grandchildren, Karsten Binkley, Hunter Binkley, Cody Binkley, Jackson Binkley Norman, Madison Binkley Norman, Richard, Karl, Edward Binkley, Jenny Lynn Phillips, Kitty (CJ) Yunger, Drew Schaffernoth, Luis (Kristen) Portillo, Anay Portillo; great grandchild, Riley Phillips; god son, Britt Hunter and special family member, Martina (Michael) Schwengel. A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 12noon in the Chapel of Ashland City United Methodist Church in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, September 27th, from 4pm to 8pm.
