Reverend Floyd Edward Humphrey passed away September 24, 2019.

He was born on June 4, 1938 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Ivory Humphrey, Sr. and Lorene Adkins Humphrey.

Floyd grew up in the Cedar Lake community in Decatur and later moved to Chattanooga in 1969. Here he met the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Ms. Olivia McGraw.

Floyd’s lifetime in Chattanooga includes employment with U.S. Pipe & Foundry from 1972 until retirement in 2001, graduation from the Chattanooga Bible Institute, service as Associate Pastor of the New Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church and fifty years of enthusiastically and passionately preaching and teaching the truth of God’s word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Floyd leaves to cherish his memories, his most loveable and devoted wife of 47 years, Mrs. Olivia Humphrey. He leaves his children: Olivia Humphrey Walsh, Tallassee, AL, (Grandchildren: Yolanda & James), Lisa Michelle (Gary Sr.) Coleman (Grandson DeShon), and Floydett Livia Humphrey (Grandchildren Christopher & Justin), Chattanooga, TN., Olin (Roxanne)McGraw , Snellville, GA. Brothers: Lorenzo Humphrey, Los Angeles, CA and Ivory Humphrey, Jr., Decatur, AL. Sisters: Geraldine Humphrey, Decatur, AL and Mary (Tommie) Stegall, Atlanta, GA., a host of family and friends, all of whom he dearly loved.

Public viewing will begin at 8:30 am Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Terrance Hannah officiating. Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery.
