Matthew Doty Wood, age 34, of Toledo, Ohio and recently of Denver, Colorado, passed away September 16, 2019. Matthew was born June 25, 1985 in Toledo, Ohio to Arlo Wood and Elizabeth (Mullins) Matay. He was a graduate of Bowsher High School and later attended culinary school. Doty was a drummer for Toledo area bands, Black Market Children and Thee Static Rituals. He had a passion for cooking, music and his family. Doty enjoyed being different and standing out in society. Festivus was a special time of year for Doty.

Matthew was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean Kroes and MCA. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sharon Rakowski, father, Arlo Wood, mother, Liz (Robert) Matay, sisters; Mandy (Eric) Moore and Karmen (Greg) Muller, brother, Dylan Wood, nephews; Weiland, Gavin and Kyle, and his niece Dezi, and his rye bread stealing dog, Brisco. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and countless friends.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home followed by a bonfire.
