Columbus Joseph Burley Childers, 74, of Columbus died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at G. Bennett Adams Church in Roxana, Ky., with Eli Smith officiating. Calling will be today and until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Whitaker Cemetery in Roxana. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana. Local arrangements were made by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Arrangements in Kentucky were made by Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg, Ky. Mr. Childers is survived by sons, Home,' James and Roy Childers, all of Harrodsburg, Ky., Joseph Childers Jr. of Columbus and Freddie Childers of Crab Orchard, Ky; daughters, Sophie Critney of Columbus and Selina Childers and Corrine Zabala, both of Harrodsburg; and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Shell Childers; and a son, Everett Lee Childers.
