She was a 1984 graduate of Birch High School in Delbarton, West Virginia. She earned her nursing degree as an RN from the Southern West Virginia Community College. She graduated the Mortuary Science program at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama. She stepped out of nursing to pursue a career in funeral service and managed Bowers Funeral Home for her father-in-law and husband. She thoroughly loved serving Meigs County and the surrounding counties with the Bowers family and staff. She loved picking blackberries and facetiming her grandchildren along with her husband, it was the highlight of every evening.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Lambert, one infant brother, and her grandmother Beulah Justice.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Allen Bowers Jr., of Decatur, Tennessee; father, Anthony Lambert of Wayne County, West Virginia; two daughters, Miranda (Chase) Workman of Delbarton, West Virginia and Jessica Akers of Charleston, West Virginia; step-daughter, Casie (Jacob) Bowers-Cantrell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, step-son, Braden Bowers of Pennsylvania; brother, Archie Lambert, Father-law-law James "Jim" (Jane) Bowers.
Visitation 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Friday,, September 27, 2019, at Bowers Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 8:00 p.m. Rev. Jamey Davis, the Rev. Max Redman, and the Rev. Gary Rolen officiating.
A second visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 28, 2019, at Chafin Funeral Home, Delbarton, West Virginia. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 pm with Elder Jimmy Maynard officiating.
Interment will follow in the Vance Cemetery, Delbarton, Mingo County, West Virginia.
