Eva Jean Robinson, 84, of Jonesboro, Georgia, formerly of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia.

Eva Jean Robinson was born to Ben and Barnetta Cartwright Palm in Memphis, Tennessee on July 27th, 1935. She married Leroy Robinson of Memphis, Tennessee. Their union was blessed for more than 57 years, as they raised 6 children in South Beloit.

Eva was a humble servant of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Community Baptist Church in South Beloit, where she served as; a deaconess, vacation bible schoolteacher, choir member, and a soloist. Eva’s working life consisted of; Admiral Television in Harvard, Illinois, Cara Villa Nursing Home in Beloit, Wisconsin, and lastly the General Motors Assembly in Janesville, Wisconsin from which she retired. Her most rewarding work however was being a wife, mother, and grandmother for her family. After retiring from General Motors, Eva chose to serve the Beloit community as a school crossing guard. The relationships Eva built with the school children she took personally. Eva made it her mission to purchase warm coats and mittens for the children who went without during the winter months and she personally delivered them as Christmas gifts to their homes on Christmas Eve. Eva was known throughout the area for her loving kind heart, caring spirit, and beautiful smile.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Robinson; parents, Ben and Barnetta Palm; nine sisters; and three brothers. Surviving family members include her; sisters, Cynthia Palm of Memphis, Tennessee, and Lorine Beard of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother, Dennis Palm of Memphis, Tennessee; six children; Leroy (Vicky) Robinson, Jr. of Oak Harbour, Washington, Danny (Kathy) Robinson of Beloit, Pastor Bill (Brenda) Robinson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Arthur Robinson of Beloit, WI, Ray Robinson of San Diego, California, and Eva (Johnny) Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia; eighteen grandchildren; more than twenty great-grandchildren; along with a host of great-great-grandchildren, and many, many other children who call her Mema. Mema, Mother, Mrs. Eva Robinson is absent in body, but she is present with the Lord.

Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Services are 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Community Baptist Church, 1634 Center Street, South Beloit, Illinois 61080 with Reverend Robert Hearns officiating. Committal at Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit will follow the service.
