Roy E. Bowers, 81, Kokomo, passed away at 7:31 am Monday September 23, 2019, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis. He was born March 12, 1938, in Luttrell, Tennessee, the son of the late Roy Thomas & Monnie H. (Tharp) Bowers. On May 17, 1979, he married Audrey Nokken and she survives.
Roy retired from Haynes International after 30 years of service. He is a member of Honey Creek Missionary Baptist Church and the Quarter Century Club. Roy enjoyed working in his yard, playing softball, boating, and fishing.
Along with his wife Audrey, Roy is survived by his children, Kathy (Marty) Bradley, Sherri McIntire, Greg Bowers, and Kimberly (Larry) Mote; step-children, Regina (Tim) McAninch, and Timothy Hewitt; along with 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tony E. Bowers; siblings, Gary Bowers, Kenneth Bowers, Drama Duke, and Donna Mohler; and grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Johnson, and Cory Bowers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Honey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 250 Nashville Street, Russiaville, with Pastor Jim Stevenson officiating.
