Curtis graduated from Columbus West High School in 1984. Curtis was previously employed at Ohio State for 10 years. He was currently employed at Cap and Associates. Curtis lived a hard working successful life.
He loved having friends and family gatherings, he also loved video games, fishing, cooking, playing horse shoes, and having the fellas over to watch the game. He was one of the best to throw a kickback.
He was loved and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Preceded in death by parents, Edward C. Hughes and Annie Cecilia Burks; brother Michael Burks; nephew, Antony Sowell; and his daughter Angel Tatum.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memory, sisters Toni Burks, Marion Burks, Margaret Burks, Lisa Burks; brother, Jimmy Burks; sons, Curtis, Mike, Chris, Jodeci, Tatum, Donald; mother of all his children, Debra Tatum; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
