Delain L. "Delvin" McLaughlin, 86, of Rock Falls, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born June 25, 1929 in Troy Grove, Illinois, he was the son of Frank D. and Adelia (Nielson) McLaughlin. He was united in marriage to Dona Puls on December 17, 1955 in Rock Falls.
Mr. McLaughlin was a US Air Force veteran and worked for Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad as an engineer, retiring after 41 years of service.
He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed working in his yard, hunting, fishing, motorcycles and music. He was a member of the Clinton Eagles Club and the Moose.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Dona; his children, Cynthia Mroz and Frank (Jan) McLaughlin; a sister, Deloris Whitlock and his grandchildren, Chris McLaughlin, Michelle Felt, Freddy Hansford and Paul Mroz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Joyce Halverson and Sharon Ackley.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Per Mr. McLaughlin's wishes there will be no service. A memorial has been established in his memory. Arrangements are through McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Falls.
