She and her late-husband, Ray, retired to Lake Livingston in 1982 and enjoyed time out on the lake, working in their garden, and sitting on the porch that overlooks the lake. Prior to retirement, they lived in the Forest Cove area of Kingwood and would frequently receive awards for their yard, and it was here that she joined her first garden club. Bobbie was a well-loved member of Livingston First United Methodist Church and the Polk County Garden Club, where she served two terms as President and earned the title of “Distinguished Gardener”. In March of 1998, she earned the title of “Texas Master Gardener”. Bobbie was also a member of the Wine Sippers, worked by serving food during Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinners, and was a volunteer at the ManniFest Food Pantry. Bobbie loved to travel with friends and family, and had a passion for gardening and playing bridge. Bobbie lived life the way she wanted and to the fullest; she also lived it with elegance, grace, and strength. To love and to know her was truly an honor.
