Joseph B. Embrey, well known resident of Stafford, died at his home near Mountain View, in that county Sunday morning at 1 o'clock in the 71st year of his life. The deceased was well known in both this city and his home county. He was a man of quiet disposition, who attended strictly to his own affairs and was a member of Ramoth Baptist church, having been received into the church about a week prior to his death.

Besides his wife, who was Miss Rebecca Jett, daughter of the late S. C. Jett, he is survived by one sister, Miss Virginia Embrey, of Stafford; one son, E. M. Embrey, and five daughters--Mrs. Addie Bloxton, Mrs. Daisy Wilkerson, Mrs. Emma Cooper, Mrs. Nettie Cooper and Miss Sally Embrey, all of Stafford.

Funeral services took place at Mountain View church, Stafford county, Monday afternoon at two o'clock with Interment in the family cemetery near his home. Services both in the church and at the grave were conducted by Rev. R. E. Dunkum, pastor of Ramoth church.
