Delores Lea Hoover, 81, of Saxman, Kansas, passed away September 22, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born September 21, 1938 in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Orville and Buelah Crandall Smith. Delores was a lifelong Saxman resident. She graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1956. Delores was a homemaker. She was a master gardener, and member of Toast Masters Club. Delores attended various churches in the area. On January 19, 1957, Delores was united in marriage with Dale Hoover in Alden, KS. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2019. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and son, Timothy Dale Hoover. Delores is survived by her children, Larry Hoover and wife Shirley of South Hutchinson, Gaylene Wilson of Hutchinson, David Hoover and wife Phyllis of Hutchinson, Melody Conner of Hutchinson, and Dala Crosby of Lowell, Michigan; honorary grandfather, Bob Schirer; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. . Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 27, 2019 at Methodist Church, Lyons with Pastor Scott Miller officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Methodist Church, Lyons with family present. Memorials may be given to Star of Hope (formerly Haiti Love and Faith) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
