William Wayne “Billy” Ranks, 74, of Cairo, died Friday, September 20, 2019, at the Veterans Medical Center in Marion.
Mr. Ranks was born June 27, 1945, in Philippi, Tennessee, the son of Robert and LaVern Hollis Ranks.
He married Janet Hall on November 5, 1972.
Mr. Ranks served in the United States Army and worked at Unimin for over fifteen years before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and watching “The Young and the Restless”.
Mr. Ranks is survived by his wife, Janet, of Cairo, his kitty cat, Callie, and numerous friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Mound City National Cemetery.
