Diana Mae Owens Chase Martin, was born on December 6, 1942 at home in Fort Kipp, MT. She was born to Eunice Shields Alfrey and Cleveland Owens.

Diane received her education from Brockton Schools, graduating from there. Diane was the second oldest of 11 children, helping to raise her siblings. Diane worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Poplar Hospital, then receiving a job for Medical Records at IHS/Verne Gibbs Health Center for 20 years, retiring to help care for her daughter Claudette.

Diane had 4 children. She was a single parent to her children and raised them to the best of her ability. She has a total of 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. On January 4, 2014 Claudette died. It was a shock to the family. Now its beautiful knowing Mom is back with Claudette and the rest of her loved ones.

Diane was an avid Pow-wower, giving to as many as she could. She loved to sing, as she, her mom Eunice, sisters Joyce, Sandra and Eleanore McKay had their own group singing in as many pow-wows as possible. Diane was also a champion fancy dancer in her younger years, and then switched to jingle dress, to which she still danced. She made sure her sons and daughter danced and knew how to sing, which led to her grandkids and great-grandchildren. She instilled tradition, wisdom, respect and life in her children. We know we have missed numerous people, as Mom has adopted brothers, sister, sons, daughters, grandchildren, etc., but know she loved each and every one of you.
