Doug was born June 1, 1939 to Samuel Merlin and Mary Lou Peck Little.
Doug was a big man with a big heart who was very straight forward. He worked more than 45 years in various fields of construction and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Doug was very talented in art and music, especially the guitar. He was a true wordsmith and loved doing crossword puzzles, cryptograms, and playing scrabble. He was an avid saltwater fisherman in his early years and will always be a huge fan of Atlanta Braves baseball and UNC Tar Heel basketball.
In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Little.
He is survived by the love of his life, Janie K. Meadows-Little; son, Douglas Hampton Little, Jr. and wife Debra of Stokesdale; daughter, Drenda Stewart and husband Jerry of Thomasville; son, Marc Little of Asheboro; stepson, Jason Allred of Asheboro; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, David Little and wife Renee, Dottie Pyrtle, Leon Little and wife Loretta, Phyllis Little; and his tractor, Bota
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Michael W. Adams Sr. officiating.
