Muriel Jones, 83, Lake City, died Sunday, January 30, 2000, at Stewart Memorial hospital, Lake City.
Services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2000, at the Lampe Funeral Home, Lake City, with the Reverend Betty Weidert officiating. Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 pm Tuesday, February 1, 2000 at the Lampe Funeral Home, Lake City.
Muriel Curry was born August 12, 1916, at a farm east of Lake City. She worked as a private secretary for a branch of the Mutual Benefit Health and Accident Company, Fort Dodge, for a number of years. She also served as a private secretary at the State Legislature, which convened in 1945. In 1945, she married Emris G. Jones in Troy, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Mason & Letha May (Strayer) Curry; husband Emris G. Jones; and son John Curry Jones.
Survivors include one son Alan Garland Jones, Sycamore, Illinois; one granddaughter; and stepdaughter Susan Jones Duffy, Colorado. From her obituary.
