Sally J. Ross 1946—2019
Sally J. Ross, 73, of Rockford, Illinois passed away Tuesday September 17, 2019. She was born February 17, 1946, the daughter to Evelyn (Waltz) and Ben Schleicher. Sally attended Auburn High School, class of 1964. She married Tom Ross on May 6, 1967 and went on to have two children. Sally worked for many years at Child and Family Connections. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Sally was a kind, generous person that never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking, poker and shopping on QVC. She loved the holidays with Christmas being her favorite. She was a member of the backyard group, the poker gals and Auburn class group. Most of all Sally loved her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survived by her children, Kimberly (Michael) Jaeger and Daniel (Stacy) Ross; grandchildren, Paige (Jake Lanning) Jaeger, Haley (Steven DeLeon) Jaeger, Emily Ross and Samuel Ross; brother, Ben Schleicher; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Tom; sister-in-law, Judi Schleicher and nephew, Ben K. Schleicher. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Highview in the Woodlands and Northern Illinois Hospice.
