SHERIDAN —

Clarence William Knighten, 82, of Sheridan, died Sunday at Sheridan Nursing and Rehab.

He was born Dec. 24, 1923, at Mt. Ida, a son of the late Noah Edward Knighten and Gracie Lee Craig Knighten.

He was a retired logger for Wayne Holloway Logging.

He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Sheridan.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Knighten and Grady Knighten, and one sister, Willie Mae McCormick.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eva Pauline Knighten; two sons, Homer Knighten and Terry Knighten, both of Sheridan; three daughters, Brenda Harris of Sheridan, Mary Massey of Pearcy and Betty Knighten of Angola, Ind.; two brothers, Floyd Knighten of Traverse City, Mich., and Dewey Knighten of Poolville, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Williamson of Poolville and Linda Lemmons of Camden; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Buie Funeral Home with the Revs. Clyde D. Scott and Stephen Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
