Thomas Bruce Aaby died peacefully on September 20, 2019 at Rochester Health West with loved ones at his side.

Born June 27, 1951 in Rochester, MN to Robert and Betty Aaby. Thomas graduated from John Marshall High School in 1969.
He attended Hamline University, receiving his BA in 1973 and later then entered William Mitchell Law School (now Mitchell-Hamline), graduating in 1977.

He joined VISTA, working in legal aid, followed by positions with several law firms. He was a lawyer with Metro Title when diagnosed with brain cancer in 1989. In 1990 he returned to Rochester and worked as a title reader.

He was an active member of Homestead United Methodist Church, serving on its mission committee.

Tom enjoyed camping and various card and board games. He was an avid reader and faithfully followed the Minnesota Twins baseball team.

Thomas is survived by his sister, Theresa Aaby of Hinckley, MN; son, Mike Aaby of Zumbrota, MN; four grandchildren, Anthony, Alexia, Alyssa, and Ashley; and aunts, uncles, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN 55901). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
