Mr. Ralph LaDon Wright age 70 of Excel passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and served in the United States Army National Guard for 30 years. Mr. Wright was a Master Sgt. E-8 he had 23 years of full time service in the Army National Guard and also worked as a recruiter. He was a member of Excel Baptist Church and past Master of the Excel Masonic Lodge# 685. Mr. Wright was also a past band director for Excel High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Lewis Wright and Eulene Coleman Wright and one sister Shirley Wright.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife Bonnie Tatum Wright of Excel, AL; one daughter Amy Wright (Todd) Rowell of Monroeville, AL; sister Shelia Wright of Excel, AL; one grandchild Taylor (Cody) Philen of Mexia, AL and one great granddaughter Lucy Grace Philen of Excel, AL.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 10AM to 11AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11AM with the Rev. Shannon Moses officiating. Interment will be at Excel Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing. The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made to Pilots for Christ.
