Anthony J. Russell- Johnston, 25, of LaVale, formerly of Lonaconing, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at his residence.
Born Sept. 10, 1992, in Silver Spring, he was the son of Helen "Ellie" Russell of Lonaconing and James H. Johnston Jr. of Middletown. Anthony had very special people in his life that he thought of often after their passing. These people had made a huge impact in his life growing up. They were great-grandmother, Bertha "Nana" Russell; great-aunt, "Ma" Elaine Green; George Myers, Barry Clark; and his cousin, Larry Russell Jr.
Anthony was a graduate of Mountain Ridge High School and the Career Center having studied masonry. He also took schooling as a corrosion specialist and pipe fitting. He was employed with Proctor-Gamble in Martinsburg W.Va., through the Laborers Union Local 616. Union officials said that Anthony's work ethics made the Local 616 proud. Anthony enjoyed spending time with his son, Hunter, outside in the garage, taking rides in the truck, working in the basement, playing in the sand box and playing games.
In addition to his parents, "Ellie" and James, he leaves behind his son, Hunter Jackson Russell-Johnston; four brothers, James R. Johnston, Jonathan P. Johnston, James H. Johnston, Arland Russell-Johnston; six sisters, Jaclyn Johnston, Jessica (Johnston) Peters, Natasha Johnston-Chance, Amanda Russell-Johnston, Aariah Ellen Johnston, and Ramy Mae Johnston; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by the mother of his son, Taylor Rounds.
Anthony's family requested his body to be cremated.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m.
A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 6 p.m. with the Reverend Darrell Broadwater and the Reverend Tim Bittinger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boal Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
