Charles M. Bird, 67, of Perryopolis, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at 5:25 pm at his home. Born September 17, 1950 in Perryopolis, he was the son of the late Clarence and Frances Stickle Bird. A lifelong resident of Perryopolis, Mr. Bird was a member of the First Christian Church of Fayette City and was a retired expeditor from US Steel Clairton Works. He was a member of the Star Junction Rod & Gun Club, the Wildlife Habitat Council, enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid hockey fan.
He is survived by his wife Jonnie Segin Bird to whom he was married 48 years; two daughters & son in law Louise & Glenn Thomas of Grindstone, Kristie Bird of Pleasant Hills; two sons Daniel Bird of Perryopolis, Matthew Bird of Pleasant Hills; three granddaughters Victoria Thomas, Brittney Thomas, Tiffany Thomas; three brothers & sisters in law Ronald & Rosemarie Bird of Belle Vernon, Larry & Karen Bird of Uniontown, Thomas & Claudia Bird of Belle Vernon; and two sisters and brother in law Nancy Wilson of Perryopolis and Linda & Kurt Parshall of Belle Vernon. He is preceded in death by two brothers in law Eugene Thorpe and Donald Wilson.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. Michael R. Beckley of Smithton Church of the Nazarene officiating. Entombment will take place in LaFayette Memorial Park.
