Mrs. Carol S. Rowe, age 88 of Macclenny, FL passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in the St. Vincent’s Community Hospice Center, Jacksonville, FL with her family by her side. Mrs. Rowe was born in Downers Grove, IL to the late Foster G. and Sadie Reidler Hubbert. She attended the St. Charles School of Nursing in Aurora, IL and held her Registered Nurse license for over 65 years. After moving to Baker County, FL in 1981, Mrs. Rowe worked as a nurse for the Baker County Sheriff’s Office in the jail. After retiring from nursing she kept herself very busy volunteering with various organizations. She loved to volunteer with the Council on Aging, work blood drives, distribute food through Food Source, administer CNA tests with Associates Systems, give out clothing through Rack Room at the First Baptist Church of Macclenny, and sold Christmas Around the World. In her retirement years she was an active member of the Historical Society, The Woman’s Club, where she served as Vice President, President and Secretary, and an active member of her church, First Baptist Church of Macclenny. During the last several years Mrs. Rowe became the pianist and organist for the First Baptist Church of Sanderson and loved their members and Pastors dearly. She was an avid world traveler, and spent time living in Morocco, the Philippines and Guam with her late husband, Donald E. Rowe, while he served in the Navy. She loved helping others and would do anything to help someone in need. Mrs. Rowe is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Michel E. Rowe, two brothers, Douglas and Gordon Hubbert and one great granddaughter, Gaia Soul. She is survived by her children, Patricia Osleber (Raleigh) of Stewart, FL, Elizabeth Willoughby (Alfred), Donald Rowe and Valerie Holloway all of Macclenny, FL and Margaret Moquin of Waldo, FL.: one brother, Wayne Hubbert (JoAnne) of Arkansas: one sister in law, Elizabeth Hubbert or Plymouth, MI: grandchildren, Brent Willoughby (Jana) of Macclenny, FL, Curtis Willoughby (Sabrina) of Jacksonville, FL, Joshua Willoughby (Heather) of Gainesville, FL, Rebecca Bembry (Jon) of Columbia, TN, Christle Miller (Will) of Sullivan, IN, Douglas Rowe (Heidi) of South Carolina, Larry Moquin of Tampa, FL, Katie Moquin of Hatfield, PA, Alex Moquin (Kelly) of Horsham, PA, Mitchell Holloway III (Danielle) and Jennifer Vandigo (Jacob) both of Macclenny, FL. Twelve great grandchildren, special family loved one, Nadine Spain of Georgia and special friend, Ida Gunnels, many nieces, nephews and other numerous friends also survive. A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Rowe will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, September 29 at the First Baptist Church of Macclenny with Dr. Edsel Bone officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will begin at 2 P.M at the church. Guerry Funeral Home, US 90 E., Macclenny, FL has been entrusted with the services.
