Frank Watkins Walker Jr., 68, of Gibsonton, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday September 2nd 2019. Frank is survived by his mother Frances (nee Anderson) Walker, beloved wife Hoa (nee Truong) Walker of 45 years, son Hans (Chau) Walker, daughter Kimberly (Daniel) Miller, grandson Hans Walker Jr., granddaughter Adina Miller, and brothers John and David Walker, along with many loving nieces, nephews and extended family and last but not least, Peanut the cockatoo.

Frank was predeceased by his father Frank Walker Sr. and brother Robert Walker.

Frank was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone, from all walks of life. Frank grew up in Pensacola, Florida and after retirement he settled in the Tampa Bay area. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War veteran. He has been stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Munich, Germany, and South Korea. After receiving his Bachelors Degree from Cameron University and Masters Degree in Accounting from USF, he had a second career as an accountant, retiring from Tampa General Hospital. Frank was proud to be connected to both the U.S. Army and TGH.

Frank developed a great love of golf, which became one of his biggest joys in life. He also loved Tampa Bay sports, especially baseball—his favorite team was the Tampa Bay Rays. He especially loved to root for his grandson Hans Jr.’s baseball teams, becoming a regular at games. He was an animal lover (he has raised cows, goats, chickens, and peacocks), bird enthusiast (especially cockatoos), avid reader, history buff and loved to travel - especially on cruises, visiting places like Japan, South America, and Alaska.

A visitation for Frank will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 1:00 PM at the chapel. A burial will occur at Sunset Memory Gardens. Blount & Curry FH
