Thelma was born in Coyle, OK. on October 27, 1938 and graduated from Coyle High School. Thelma married Kenneth Higgins on July 14, 1957, and they lived in Stillwater, for a short time, before starting a dairy farm north of Perkins. Kenneth and Thelma operated the dairy in Perkins, later moving to Ripley, for nearly 40 years. Kenneth and Thelma eventually retired from the dairy business and moved back to rural Stillwater where Thelma operated a daycare. Kenneth and Thelma also started K&T Kennel and raised several breeds of dogs. Thelma was involved in many church and school activities. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and sewing.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Audrie Moorman, sister, Lois Carrier, and four brothers, Loyd, Garrell, Clarence, and Steve.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four children, Sherry Chapman of Perkins, Marilyn Beverage, Carla Axtell and Dale Higgins, all of Stillwater, along with 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
