Started as bellboy in 1929 at old Cornhusker Hotel, then became manager of The Cornhusker, Indian Hills Inn of Omaha and Lincoln Hotel. Personnel director, Lincoln Hilton. Considered the dean of "greeters," trade term for hotel managers. In semiretirement, worked for Tourism Office downtown and did some soliciting for Restaurant Association Office. Instrumental in early downtown development in keeping Pershing Auditorium in downtown area and bringing RSROA National Headquarters to Lincoln. Member, First Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge, Sesostris Shrine, Nebraska Restaurant Association, Downtown Association. Did volunteer work for alcoholics association.
