TACOMA, Washington - Ruth Annie Johnson Leatham, 70, died July 21, 1988.
She was born February 5, 1918 to Clarence R. and Annie Blaylock Johnson. She married Calvin Levi Leatham November 10, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was educated in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She also received her training in nursing there.
She worked as a nurse in Othello, Washington and retired in 1979 at which time she and her husband served an LDS Mission in Long Beach, California. In 1981 the Leathams moved to Provo where she lived until a short time ago.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, a member of the Pleasant View 5th Ward. She had been active in temple work the last several years. Her interest included music, poetry, and growing roses.
Survivors include two sons and five daughters, Mrs. Irwin (Sandra) Farnsworth, Puyallup, Washington; Mrs. Henry (Bonnie) Murphy and Mrs. Gary E. (Janet) Tanner, both Reno, Nevada; Mrs. George (Marianne) White, Tacoma, Washington; Mrs. Harley (Christine) Wallace, Quincy, Washington; Daniel H. Leatham, Pleasant Grove; David J. Leatham, College Station, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Don Johnson, Arizona; Blay Johnson, Smithfield; Rene Johnson, Sweden; Mrs. Keith (Illogene)Bergstrom, Riverton; and Mrs. Golden (Janice) Muir, Salt Lake City.
Funeral will be Tuesday, July 26 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View 5th Ward LDS Church, Provo. Burial in the Orem City Cemetery.
