James C. Rasmussen, age 63, of 12404 End Road, Mishicot, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 12, 2007, at his residence.

Jim was born Oct. 29, 1943 in Tisch Mills to the late Charles and Mary Krizek Rasmussen and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School, graduating with the class of 1961. He married the former Frances Herold at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. Jim was employed as a field service technician for over 40 years for the Manitowoc Engineering Company, and in the latter half of his career was afforded the opportunity to travel the world.

He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and the Mishicot Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, while hunting, fishing, trapping and golfing. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time playing cards with his buddies.

Survivors include his former wife: Frances (Mike) Kerkman, of De Pere; twin daughters and sons-in-law: Tina and John Maldonado, of Illinois, and Teri and Dennis Stratz, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen and Cheri Rasmussen, of Sheboygan; Eric and Karyn Rasmussen, of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren: James, Rachel, and David Rasmussen; Sam, and Anna Maldonando; Sarah, and Elizabeth Smith; Jack and Madeline Rasmussen. He is further survived by five sisters: Violet Weinberger, of Sheboygan; Jeanette (Jerome) Korinek, of Two Rivers; Jean (Harold) Kabat, of Oshkosh; Darlene Eisenmann, of Mishicot; Kathleen (Frank) Pietroske, of Two Rivers; four brothers: Robert (Helen) Rasmussen, town of Gibson; Ralph Rasmussen, of New Franken; Charles (Judith) Rasmussen, of Manitowoc; Richard Rasmussen, of Pembine; nieces, nephews, and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one granddaughter: Gracie Rasmussen; one brother: Irvin Rasmussen; and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Relatives and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State St., Mishicot. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Paider officiating, with burial of his cremated remains in the St. Isidore the Farmer Parish Cemetery, Tisch Mills.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Jim was a no frills "Man's Man" - A great father, grandfather and brother.
