He was son of the late Augustine and Elenora (Gerhart) Schmitz. Survived by Judith (Tom) Mott, and sisters-in-law Sharon and Gloria Schmitz and numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by Richard (Coletta), Joan (Joseph) Cachat, Paul and Thomas. Visitation from 11:00 A.M. to Noon September 21, 2019 at Queen of Apostles Chapel, Mt. St. John, Dayton.
