Andrew James Allen was born in Boulder, CO on January 1, 1971. He passed away suddenly, in the hospital on December 12, 2018, from medical complications. He battled medical illnesses for the last 3 years of his life along, with a life long battle with mental illness from age 14. He showed more bravery than anyone I know a to take the steps he needed to keep his mental illness in check and to live a more productive and healthy life.

This included medication, behavior changes, counseling, occasional hospital stays, and the help of Summit Stone Health Partners in Fort Collins. No matter how he was feeling he tried to be a caring, unselfish, sweet person who everyday ask, "How are You today?".

He had a life long love of the mountains, camping, hiking, rock hunting and bird and wildlife watching. He also love to meditate, with the help of playing his guitar, keyboard, and listening to music. He always kept up with the news of the day and we shared lots of talks about that. He most recently began to experiment with cooking. He worked earlier in life at a tea factory, a mail sorting facility, numerous restaurants, a plastic injection company, and a furniture making company.

He leaves behind in this world, his mother and friend Kathy Lee Owens of Fort Collins, his sister Nikki Lee Allen of Long Beach, CA, his father, Daniel Allan of Boulder, CO and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. His sister Jeanette Marie Allen passed away in 1996. I want to express to the public from years of experience caring for the mentally ill/medically ill, that if you need help, please surround yourself with people that have only your best interest at heart and support your struggle and sometimes our helpers will show tough love, but for you maybe a GREAT future.

WE ALL LOVE YOU ANDY!
