MARIE WELCH

Marie M. Welch, 92, Manitowoc, formerly of Reedsville and just recently,
Kellnersville, went to be with her Lord on Monday evening, December 19, 2011
and now experiences the true promise of Christmas.
The third youngest of ten children was born July 29, 1919 in the town of Manitowoc
Rapids to Joseph and Margaret (Boyle) Brunner. Marie grew up on the family farm
where the good seeds of faith, family and farming took deep root and she would
carry those values throughout her life.
On May 28, 1940, she married Edmund T. Welch at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in
Alverno. The young couple operated the family farm in Grimms where there were
chores to do, hired hands to manage and farm neighbors who looked out for one
another. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Altar
Society and The Friends of Saint Patrick. She was currently a member of Holy Family
Parish in Brillion and belonged to the Reedsville American Legion Auxiliary.
Marie experienced many joys as well as unacknowledged challenges throughout her life, but would always say, "Not my will, but Thine." As matriarch of the Welch family,
wise council, constant faith and gentle spirit were always in great abundance and
shared with others until the end of her life. Marie has left her entire family with
an invaluable inheritance and fond memories.
(Survivors omitted for privacy)
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund T. Welch, on May 22, 1966;
four children, 16 months old Danny; infant Tommy, 14 year old daughter, Rose Ann
and adult son, Gene; one daughter-in-law: Rod Welch; two grandchildren: Chris (Jeff)
Welch-Bowersock and Eddie Welch as well as six brothers, three sisters, other
relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Holy Family
Parish, 1100 W. Ryan St., Brillion, WI 54110 (920-756-2535), and a prayer service at
7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011
at Holy Family Parish until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will take
place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Frs. Timothy Brandt and
William Brunner concelebrating. Burial will follow on the family plot in St. Patrick
Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Maple Grove.
Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: www.jones-funeral,com)
is serving the Welch family.
A priest friend of the family said upon learning of Marie's death, "My condolences
to you and congratulations to her", a sentiment her family shares.
