Celestine W. “Sally” Vastine Adams, San Jose, CA died Sunday Apr. 20th at home.
She was born Dec. 15th, 1920 in Hastings, NE the daughter of William “Mac” McKindry and Gladys Newell (Sides) Vastine.
She married Billie Gordon “Bill” Adams in Hastings, NE.
Sally was a homemaker and also part time Secretary Treasure at Stern & Field Clothing Store in Galesburg, IL after Bill took the store manager's job in 1951. They remained there until 1964 when Bill became manager of G. M. McDonald's Clothiers in Denver, then off to California with the same company.
Celestine passed away in San Jose on April 20, 1980 at age 59.
She is survived by two sons, Gary (JoAnn), Richton Park, IL, Phil (Vicky), Galesburg, IL and two daughters, Barbara (Dan) Taylor, Homewood, IL and Linda Wetherford. Garden Grove, CA
Survivors also include her two brothers LaMoyne and Vern L. "Leo" Vastine and two sisters, Cleora Weitzel, and Bernedice Davis.
Services held April 23, at 1:30 p. m. Chapel of the Roses, Dr. Robert Ashcroft officiating. Private interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose, California.
